Users can now login to Library catalog to renew books, place holds

The LANL Research Library's Library Catalog now allows for self-renewals and placing holds. In the upper right corner of the catalog, you can log in to perform these functions. You will be prompted for your Z# and pass code. For the pass code, use the number generated by your cryptocard.

Renewals

Once you are logged in, you may view your account and renew books. The link to "view your account" is in the upper right-hand corner of the catalog screen. Click on "Renew all" to renew all items currently checked out.

Under "view your account" you may also see

  • a loan history of items you've checked out in the past
  • a list of holds and your position in the waiting list
  • a list of items currently checked out to you

Placing holds/requesting books

When you see a book you would like sent to you, click on the Call Number (next to "See Availability). Click on the link ("Request Item") to make a hold request. You must be logged in to make a hold request.

You can request items that are on the shelf and they will be pulled and sent to you and you can also request items that are currently on loan. This puts you on a waiting list for the next available copy.

If you have any further suggestions for how we can improve the usability of our catalog, please let us know.
