Welcome to the USDA Rural Development Web Site for the great state of Our accomplishments are many – please take a look at the front page of our website where we spotlight recent events held to celebrate the funding of a project or projects to assist rural communities in Our team of employees is truly “committed to the future of rural communities” and we prove it every day throughout the state by the delivery of our services. We want to continue to spread the “good news” of our organization and the many programs available to help those who may not be aware or need our services. Our goals are to provide housing to the many rural families in Tennessee who need a decent and affordable home; provide safe drinking water to rural people who may not have access to a clean water supply; retain and create jobs in rural Tennessee so people can work and raise a family where they choose; and provide essential community facilities such as fire departments and needed equipment, medical clinics, child daycare facilities, libraries, etc. to communities. We also provide technical assistance to rural communities in need of assistance in planning for their future. We help build communities, “from the ground up”.
