PatentIn online

PatentIn is a computer program designed to expedite the preparation of patent applications containing nucleic acid and amino acid sequences.

PatentIn generates sequence listings that comply with all format requirements specified in the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Standard ST.25 and the related U.S. final rule, "Requirements for Patent Applications Containing Nucleotide Sequence and/or Amino Acid Disclosures," 37 CFR §§1.821 - 1.825 effective July 1, 1998.

PatentIn 3.5 is a release containing enhancements effective November 27, 2007. This is the most up-to-date version of the USPTO's authoring software for sequence listings required for biotechnology applications disclosing DNA or protein sequences.

PatentIn 3.5 replaces PatentIn 3.4 and all earlier versions.

Both the software and the user manual can be downloaded from the USPTO Web site at no charge.

DOWNLOAD FILE
Download PatentIn software for Windows XP and Windows Vista onto your computer at no charge from the PatentIn software site at www.uspto.gov/web/patents/software.htm . The disk space required to install PatentIn is 6.5 MB . Additional disk space is required to store project files and sequence listing files. For help related to downloading the application, call the Patent Electronic Business Center at 866-217-9197 or send e-mail to EBC@uspto.gov . United States Patent Classification to International Patent Classification Concordance CD-ROM
The United States Patent Classification to International Patent Classification Concordance is a guide for relating the US Patent Classification (USPC) System as revised through August 1999, to the Seventh Edition of the International Patent Classification (IPC) System as published by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Geneva, Switzerland.

An electronic version of the USPC to IPC Concordance may be viewed on the USPTO Web site.

The United States Patent Classification To International Patent Classification Concordance is intended only as a guide or tool providing information which allows the user to quickly access the correct, general classification area of the IPC7, and because of differences in the philosophies of the two systems, a complete one-to-one relationship has not been attained. Also known as the USPC-IPC Concordance and Concordance File.

The Concordance List Of USPC Classes (Data as of August 31, 1999) is available from the USPTO Web site.  Users of this Concordance are encouraged to read the linked web page, Classifying Within The International Patent Classification System (IPC), which provides information on the particular differences between the USPC and the IPC and presents some basic steps in classifying documents into the IPC.

DVD-ROM
A searchable file of the United States Patent Classification to International Patent Classification Concordance is available on Patents ASSIST.
