PRINTING PROBLEMS?

Check your Browser's Pop-Up blocker settings - you need to allow the server name Vistagrande.cabq.gov to send pop-ups.
Internet explorer blocker settings can be found under the Tools menu, but there are other toolbars like Yahoo and Google
that do pop-up blocking and they have their own Blocker settings.

JUNE 2007

The "new" map query format has had additional functionality added, including the ability to zoom in and out, as well as toggle the visibility of labeling. We are emulating the 'Google'  style  functionality that many are accustomed too.

One June 28th we received a new deliverable from the County Assessor, which has updated ownership information (current to November 2006). We not expect any further updates until June 2008, so one should always check with the Assessor directly if you require the latest information.

MAY 2007

We have moved many of the existing queries, such as Parks, Neighborhoods, and Landmarks to a new format. The reason for this is the need for simpler presentation, without the complexity of the advanced Map Viewer. The Maps on the new query page are currently static JPG images, however, we plan on adding some limited navigation tools and aerial photography in the near future. We think that it will satisfy the requirements of most of our users, however the advanced map viewer will remain available for those that need the functionality. Accessing the Advanced Viewer is accomplished by clicking the static map, and it will open in a new Browser window.

FEBRUARY 2007

New 2006 Aerial Photography added.

SEPTEMBER 2006

Lot Sizes now available as an attribute of the County Assessor 'Ownership' data layer (reported in Acres). The data is accessed by utilizing the Address Query or by making the Ownership data layer active and using the "Identify" tool. Check the Site User Guide for more about using the Identify tool.

MAY 2006

As of Wed, May 17th the Address Queries were migrated to a new format. This migration was necessary in order to display up-to-date GIS information. The previous software utilized in the address queries was not able to read GIS format in which the data is now maintained. Consequently, we were displaying improper and misleading information. The new format still displays Parcel attribute information as before, however the map image is a static one. If you need to refine the map image with panning, zooming, or other data layers, Click on the static image and a new window will open for the Dynamic Mapping tool. Using this Mapping interface you can add additional data layers (ownership, flood zones. ect) as well as change the view area. Be sure to check the HELP link located below the Map image, as this explains the how to use the Layer List and also tells how to use the tools in the Mapping Toolbar.

April 2006

The 2 foot contour data has been updated. Elevation is an actual attribute, so it can provide some meaningful data< now!/p>

January 2006

Geodetic Control data has been migrated to the ArcIMS software as well as an overhaul of the source data by the City Surveyor. Any questions about this migration can be directed to Cliff Wilkie cwilkie@cabq.gov.

October 2005

The migration process to the ARCIMS software is nearly complete. I am working on custom code that can display Parcel Attributes below the map just as the older software could do... I know this is important because you dont want to do multiple clicks to get information on a single parcel. This will be in place before I switch the Address match portion of the site to the new software, however, the data on the Map Objects site is no longer getting updates and if you are looking for parcels in new developments these will only appear in new software.

JUNE 2005

The migration process to the ARCIMS software is underway. We are required to make this move to new software because the base data maintained by the AGIS division is now in a format and cannot be read the the old MapObjects internet software.

There will be a learning curve to effectivly use the new software, include new tools, and data retrieval methods. I highly recommend that users consult the "HELP" link at the bottom of the map screen for a brief tutorial on the website usage.
