Ron Littlefield, Mayor
Message from the Mayor:
We all
have more in common than differences.
The
Mayor’s Council on Disability is part of an initiative created to help make
Chattanooga more accessible to everyone, regardless of their ability. With
a diverse network of information, the dedicated people on this council are
partners with the City of Chattanooga to help serve those with disabilities.
People
of all abilities want to live their lives to the fullest – without
limitations. And the public’s perception and awareness about disabilities
will expand when discoveries are made about how people with different
abilities live, work and play together.
Mission Statement
The Mayor’s Council on Disability's overall mission is
to promote policies, programs, practices, and procedures
that give equal opportunity for all individuals with
disabilities, regardless of the nature or severity of
the disability; and to empower individuals with
disabilities to achieve economic self-sufficiency,
independent living, and inclusion and integration into
all aspects of society.
