Biosketch:
Ralph Kauffman, M.D., is Chair of Medical Research Department at Children's Mercy Hospital and holds the Marion Merrell Dow/Missouri endowed Chair in Medical Research. He is Professor of Pediatrics and Pharmacology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Dr. Kauffman received his medical degree from the University of Kansas after which he completed his pediatric residency and Clinical Pharmacology Fellowship at the University of Kansas. He is responsible for direction and oversight of the research program at Children's Mercy Hospital. Dr. Kauffman is author or co-author of more than 100 publications in the area of pediatric therapeutics. His term on the National Advisory Child Health and Human Development (NACHHD) Council expires 11/30/2008. His areas of expertise include pediatric pharmacology and reproductive and fetal pharmacology.
