Albuquerque residents and newcomers have a broad choice of housing – and lifestyles. From lofts and nightlife in the city’s successfully redeveloped downtown to rural settings with room for horses, from suburban ranch-style homes to traditional adobe homes – Albuquerque has it all.

Inventories include an ample selection of everything from starter homes to high-end, custom homes. About half of the city’s homes were built after 1970, and homes here are quite affordable. The average price is about $208,000.

Albuquerque has excelled in affordable housing, thanks to innovation and resourcefulness among builders and a progressive program by the New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority, a public-private entity that finances low-interest loans.
