Downtown Redevelopment

The City of Albuquerque is justifiably proud of its downtown. A concerted redevelopment program involving the city and private-industry partners has transformed downtown from a declining core to an attractive, lively center for business, culture, entertainment, and urban living.

The last few years have seen the completion of a new federal courthouse, state district courthouse, Alvarado Transportation Center, apartments, lofts and entertainment district.

On the horizon is the redevelopment of the railyard and its historic structures. The site is expected to house a transportation museum, housing and other mixed-use projects.
