The Hydrologic Science and Modeling Branch (HSMB) applies
the sciences of hydrology, hydrometeorology, and hydraulics to
NWS systems. It works with other components of the Hydrology Laboratory (HL) to apply these
sciences to application software and data products developed
within the HL and as a consultant to other NWS organizations.
The HSMB works with research and development organizations in
the government, private, and academic sectors to advance and secure
the science necessary for the conduct of the hydrologic services
program. HSMB applies its scientific expertise to training material
developed cooperatively with the Office of Services and Office
of Science and Technology.
