Small Steps, Big Rewards for Families with a History of Gestational Diabetes*

Gestational diabetes affects women during pregnancy and causes a lifelong risk for diabetes. Children of women with a history of gestational diabetes are also at risk, especially if they are overweight. But families can take small steps to prevent or delay type 2 diabetes. 


Helping the Student with Diabetes Succeed: A Guide for School Personnel

School personnel can play a key role in making the school experience safe for students with diabetes and NDEP developed Helping the Student with Diabetes Succeed: A Guide for School Personnel* to help. The guide reflects a consensus from a broad spectrum of federal agencies and leading organizations in the diabetes and education communities on how to better meet the medical needs of students with diabetes and provides a framework for managing diabetes effectively in the school setting.


2008 Diabetes Numbers At-a-Glance

Designed for health care professionals, the updated 2008 Diabetes Numbers At-a-Glance reference card is a convenient, pocket-sized guide to help diagnose and treat pre-diabetes and diabetes. Use the card to easily find recommendations from the American Diabetes Association for diagnosing and managing patients with diabetes, as well as treatment goals and a diabetes management schedule.


Tip Sheets for Teens with Diabetes

This engaging series of tip sheets provides useful information about diabetes and encourages teens to take action to manage their disease for a long and healthy life. Written in clear and simple language, the tip sheets are helpful for anyone who has diabetes and his or her loved ones.
