What are Illinois workNet
Centers?
Illinois
workNet Centers are one-stop
service centers with staff committed
to supporting and developing the workforce in their
community. Illinois workNet Centers help
individuals find the services they need,
and help employers meet their human resource requirements.
Illinois
residents and businesses can access IDES’ employment,
labor market information and unemployment insurance
services as well as link to a host of other resources.
For example, residents can access job boards, career
advice columns and information on public assistance,
public health services and resources for people with
developmental disabilities.
Employers are exposed
to resources for recruiting and hiring targeted groups
of job seekers, including ex-cons, people with disabilities
and foreign workers. Employers can also get help
on handling workplace challenges, like drug abuse.
Illinois workNet Centers
represent a cooperative
effort between state economic development, workforce
development, education agencies, and local workforce
investment boards along with their public and private
partners including local governments, community colleges
and non-profit organizations.
