About Asheville Transit
Asheville Transit provides bus service service throughout the City of Asheville and other local areas with 24 bus routes running from 6 a.m.-11:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday. View Asheville Transit Maps and Schedules

These routes radiate from the Transit Center, located downtown at 49 Coxe Avenue next to the U.S. Post Office. The center provides such amenities as clean restrooms, indoor and outdoor seating, and an on-duty information assistant from whom you can obtain the latest maps and schedules or from whom you may purchase monthly and annual passes and ticket books. They can answer any questions you may have about riding the bus in Asheville.

Paratransit Transportation Available
Asheville Transit provides comparable paratransit transportation to all qualifying individuals who are unable to use the bus due to a handicap. Paratransit transportation is provided by Mountain Mobility of Buncombe County under contract to Asheville Transit. The telephone number for information, sign-up, and arranging transportation is (828) 258-0186. Mountain Mobility is located at the Riverside Business Park at 2000 Riverside Drive, Suite 17, Asheville, NC 28804.

Effective July 9, 2008, the Transit Commission will meet the second Wednesday of every month at the City of Asheville Municipal Building (Police and Fire Headquarters) at 100 Court Plaza in downtown Asheville. The meeting will begin at 4:30 p.m.
