Promote Agribusiness

Agriculture remains the heart and soul of Kansas. From grain and livestock production to the development of ethanol, Kansas producers continue to drive the state’s economy by providing agricultural products to consumers around the world. Additionally, an increasing number of Kansas agriculturalists have expanded their operations to become agritourism vendors, making their operations accessible to tourists who want to see, visit, and participate in various aspects of our state’s most cherished industry. By embracing agritourism as an emerging industry and maintaining our commitment to traditional farm production, the Department has positioned itself to help Kansas agriculturalists remain viable for years to come.

The Department provides various forms of assistance to agricultural businesses, including financial aid, regulatory assistance, and advice on international trade. We work with Kansas producers, lenders, educators, and researchers to capture value in new ways from raw commodities, and we assist producers in creating alliances and cooperatives to take advantage of market opportunities and economies of scale. The Department also helps businesses that grow, handcraft, or use Kansas products in their manufacturing processes.
