Swine Flu Preparedness

The Mission of the American Red Cross is helping people prevent,
prepare for and respond to emergencies. The Red Cross not only
responds to tens of thousands of disasters each year, but also works
with organizations such as The World Health Organization (WHO) and
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), to help respond to
public health emergencies.

The CDC is providing updates on the human swine flu cases in the US
and Mexico. The CDC Web site provides the latest information, which
can also be obtained by calling 1-800-CDC-INFO. The CDC will make
announcements in the U.S. advising the best course of action -- using
television, radio, print and the internet.

The WHO will inform governments worldwide with global updates on the
human swine flu condition, and the WHO web site will contain the latest
information being released by the organization.

The Red Cross has taken on the role of working with communities
