President's Volunteer Service Awards Available Free of Charge for VIPS Volunteers
Citizen Corps has partnered with the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation to provide 10,000 Presidential Volunteer Service Awards free of charge to Citizen Corps Councils and Citizen Corps partner programs, including local VIPS programs.
Registered VIPS programs have been pre-registered to be official Certifying Organizations. Please note that, although the awards are free of charge, programs are responsible for shipping and handling costs. Click here for more information.

Answering the Call to Service, a Report from USA Freedom Corps
In his State of the Union Address in 2002, President Bush asked every American to donate 4,000 hours "to the service of your neighbors and your nation". This week, the White House Office of USA Freedom Corps released, Answering the Call to Service (PDF), a report detailing the volunteer initiatives and successes that have occured over the last seven years.
