Peptide Synthesis Facility

Scientist performing an experimentThe Peptide Synthesis Facility, supported by the NICHD Contraception and Reproductive Health Branch, provides bulk non-Good Manufacturing Practice-grade acyline, a potent gonadotropin-releasing hormone antagonist, to qualified investigators, as well as a clinical formulation (Good Manufacturing Practice-grade), which requires simple reconstitution with sterile water, for studies with human subjects.  The Facility also produces new peptides for evaluation by the Biological Testing Facility and for investigators who are interested in gonadotropin suppression and regulation of the gene that encodes both a new class of steroid/sterol sulfotransferases, and zona pellucida glycoprotein for immunocontraception.
