Question
Are there other known terrestrial planets seen other than those found in our solar system?
This is a subject I have discussed many times in "Ask an Astrobiologist". Briefly, we have not found any other terrestrial-size planets because we do not yet have the technology to search for such small planets. When the Kepler mission is launched next year, we expect to find out whether or not terrestrial planets are common (see http://kepler.nasa.gov/). Then it will be meaningful to speculate about how often such planets might be habitable. David Morrison
