Statistics
The NICHD does not collect statistics on most health conditions.  Instead, the Institute reports statistics related to its research portfolio that are gathered by other groups and government agencies.

For example, the NICHD reports statistics on Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) rates in relation to the back sleep position encouraged by the Institute’s Back to Sleep campaign

The NICHD is also a member of the Federal Interagency Forum on Child and Family Statistics.  Every year, the Forum publishes a report about the health of America’s children. The report and additional child and family statistics are available at http://childstats.gov.

The National Center for Health Statistics at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is the primary organization for collecting health statistics for the government.
