Ask an Astrobiologist
"How long does it take light to travel from the Sun to Earth, and what is the formula? (I would like to calculate the answer with my students.)"
  1. Question

If I was interested in a career in astrobiology or astrophysics what kind of classes should I be taking in highschool/college?

For a career in astrophysics, you will need to study physics and mathematics (and, of course, astronomy). An astrobiologist, however, needs a broader knowledge that includes both physical sciences (such as physics, chemistry, and geology) and biological science. This requirement applies in college. At the high school level, almost all science and math classes will lay the foundations to help you pursue a career in any of the sciences. David Morrison
