Who We Are:

  • The Export Finance Assistance Center of Washington (EFACW) was created by the Washington State Legislature in 1983 to assist Washington State companies with the export finance, credit and payment risk aspects of selling overseas
  • EFACW is funded by the Washington State Dept. of Trade and Economic Development http://www.cted.wa.gov; no fees are charged for our services
  • EFACW is co-located with federal export promotion agencies in the U.S. Export Assistance Center http://www.export.gov and http://www.buyusa.gov

  • How to structure appropriate payment terms for your specific export transactions
  • Access public and private export financing and payment risk mitigation resources

U.S. Export-Import Bank Programs for Small Businesses

As the Washington State City/State Partner for the U.S. Export-Import Bank), the EFACW can explain and help apply for the following programs http://www.exim.gov:

  • Working Capital Guarantee Provides 90% guarantee of working capital loans to U.S. exporters (supports export-related inventory, accounts receivable, and issuance of advance payment standby L/C’s)
  • Export Credit Insurance Protects U.S. exporters against loss should a foreign buyer default on a payment obligation for political or commercial reasons (short and medium-term coverage is available; single buyer and multibuyer policy options)
  • Medium-Term Loan Guarantee Provides guarantee to lenders making loans to foreign buyers of U.S. goods and services (1-7 year terms)
