Confiscation of Jewish Property in Europe, 1933-45: New Sources and Perspectives
Chanukkah menoras and Shabbat candlesticks confiscated from the Lodz ghetto Jews. Jews are forced to deliver their radios to Bulgarian officials for confiscation.
This program will feature eleven scholars whose research, analysis, and insights have increased understanding of the Nazi confiscation of Jewish property in Europe. The speakers will examine the institutions charged with implementing confiscation policies, the manner in which Jewish assets were seized, the perspective of those whose property was confiscated, and the possibilities for and barriers facing future research.
