Information regarding LAMP Products on the NWS server

 

The GFS-LAMP guidance is currently available for the cycles of: 0000, 0100, 0300, 0400, 0500, 0600, 0700, 0900, 1000, 1100, 1200, 1300, 1500, 1600, 1700, 1800, 1900, 2100, 2200 and 2300 UTC (The next cycles planned are: 0200, 0800, 1400, and 2000 UTC, and will be effective 1st Quarter FY09). Guidance will be available for all cycles in the future.

The GFS LAMP station guidance is available in the following formats: ASCII text bulletin and BUFR format. The GFS LAMP gridded Thunderstorm guidance is available in GRIB2 format.

Beginning July 25, 2006, these products are being disseminated via the NWS Telecommunications Gateway to the SBN and NOAAPORT. In addition, the guidance is available on the LAMP web site http://weather.gov/mdl/gfslamp/gfslamp.shtml

Beginning August 8, 2006, the GFS LAMP products are also be available via anonymous ftp from the NWS tgftp server. The details for retrieving the data from the NWS server can be found in the table below.
