Transportation

Access to transportation services that are flexible and responsive to the varied needs of older adults and people with disabilities is critical to the success of many programs available in Vermont.

DDAS works closely with numerous state and local agencies to ensure that individuals have access to transportation services to maintain independence and promote access to needed services and resources.

Programs Include

  • Medicaid Medical Transportation
Transportation is available for individuals who have no other means of transportation available to them and are traveling to a medical appointment covered by Medicaid.

  • Other Necessary Transportation - Elders/Disabled Transportation Services

Transportation is available for people who cannot drive and/or who need transportation for a variety of reasons, such as to go to a medical appointment, work, shopping, community meal program, adult day center, community activity, or meeting.

Services provided are relatively flexible, however it is not an entitlement and availability depends on the region of the state and funding available.

These services are limited to people aged 60 and older, or people with disabilities
