As part of the recent East Region Earth Team State volunteer coordinators training,  participants got a chance to restore dunes during a visit to nearby Sullivan’s Island.  A local Earth Team volunteer coordinated the workday where attendees "walked the talk" by planting dune grass and putting up sand fencing.  This event attracted media attention as well with two local newspapers and television stations arriving on the scene to report on the volunteer coordinator's efforts.

The meeting theme was “The Spirit of America Shines through Volunteers.”  Volunteer coordinators from Vermont to Puerto Rico gathered to learn about new ways to strengthen the Earth Team, enhance recruiting efforts, and how to enter information into the new Earth Team volunteer database.
