- IGRA
National Climatic Data Center's Integrated Global Radiosonde Archive (IGRA) is populated with more than 1500 upper air stations. Observations are available for standard, surface, tropopause and significant levels. The period of records extends from 1970 to present.
- WebCliServ
Web Climate Services Version 2.1 is an attempt to bring metadata from a number of sources into one location to provide easy access to information.
- NCDC NEXRAD Data Inventory Search
Graphical system permitting users to view detailed NEXRAD inventories by station and data range
- NOMADS
NOMADS is a network of data servers using established and emerging technologies to access and integrate model and other data stored in geographically distributed repositories in heterogeneous formats. NOMADS enables the sharing and inter-comparing of model results and is a major collaborative effort, spanning multiple Government agencies and academic institutions.
System Access - External
This area consists of several websites and systems outside the NCDC that maintains metadata.
- GCMD
NASA's Global Change Master Directory enables users to locate and obtain access to Earth Science data sets and services relevent to global climate change and Earth Science research.
- NMMR
NOAA's Metadata Managers Repository (NMMR) is the web based interface that hosts NOAA's metadata. This metadata is in the Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) format.
- Geodata
The geodata.gov portal, also known as the Geospatial One-Stop, serves as a public gateway for improving access to geospatial information and data under the Geospatial One-Stop e-government initiative.
- GOSIC
The Global Observing Systems Information Center was established at the College of Marine Studies of the University of Delaware, to provide a single entry point for users for data and information produced by the global observing systems GCOS, GOOS, and GTOS.
- MERMaid
MERMAid allows users to organize their metadata records in various arrangements (i.e. by program, project, data type, personnel). Some of the key features in MERMAid include (1) user-defined roles and permissions at the metadata management and database levels; (2) change tracking; and (3) enhanced validation. Also, existing FGDC compliant metadata (in XML format) can be contributed and managed through MERMAid.
