Training

Flow Cytometry

The Flow Cytometry Center provides training in the operation and theory of the FacSort, LSR II and NPE cytometers. Training is offered as needed by the investigators. The staff in the Flow Cytometry Center should be contacted by phone or e-mail to set up an appointment to discuss the desired experiment and what different alternatives are available for the study. Appointments are also set up for hands-on training on the instrument, and to help investigators set up the instrument for their specific study. Individuals are taught how to start up the instrument, set the instrument for their particular study, acquire data, analyze data, and prepare the instrument for the next user. Once trained, individuals can use the instruments at any time as their particular studies dictate. These instruments are available for use on a first-come, first-served basis. There are schedule books available in the flow cytometry room for reservations. If any problems or questions arise during the use of the instruments, staff is available between 8:00 A.M. and 4:30 P.M. Monday-Friday to help in any way that is necessary.
