Center for Acquisition Excellence Offers GSA Schedules TrainingThe following GSA Schedules training courses are currently offered in the Center for Acquisition Excellence: How to Become a Contractor—GSA Schedules Program course is offered as an online, self-paced course that familiarizes sellers of commercial supplies and services with the key aspects of the GSA Schedules Program. The primary course objective is to provide sellers of commercial supplies and services with the knowledge necessary to execute effective and efficient business decisions regarding the GSA Schedules Program. To achieve this objective, the course describes various features of the GSA Schedules Program, how to submit an offer, the contract award process, successful marketing of supplies and services, and identifies sources of information related to Schedule contract administration. The average cumulative time for online course completion is eight hours. Upon successful completion of the course, which is a minimum score of 80 percent, a student will be awarded .8 Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Using GSA Schedules course is offered as either an online, self-paced course or as classroom instruction to all personnel from agencies and organizations eligible to purchase commercial supplies and services through the GSA Schedules Program. The primary course objective is to instruct Schedule users in how to obtain easy access to responsible vendors, while reducing acquisition cycle time, and obtaining quality supplies and services at the best possible prices. To achieve this objective, the course identifies special features of the GSA Schedules Program, distinguishes between the key tasks accomplished by GSA and those accomplished by Schedule users, and describes the process necessary to place and administer Schedule orders. The average cumulative time for online course completion is 16 hours. Upon successful completion of the course, which is a minimum score of 80 percent, a student will be awarded 1.6 Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Cooperative Purchasing Program course is offered as an online, self-paced course to state and local government customers interested in using GSA Schedule contracts to purchase Information Technology (IT) products and services. The primary course objective is to instruct state and local government customers in how to obtain easy access to responsible IT vendors, while reducing acquisition cycle time, and obtaining quality IT products and services at the best possible prices. To achieve this objective, the course identifies the statutory authority and unique features of the Cooperative Purchasing Program, the special features of the GSA Schedules Program, the key tasks accomplished by GSA as compared to those of Schedule users, and the process necessary to place and administer Schedule orders. The average cumulative time for online course completion is 16 hours. Upon successful completion of the course, which is a minimum score of 80 percent, a student will be awarded 1.6 Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
