The NOAA/PMEL Carbon Program has been making discrete carbon measurements on hydrographic cruises in collaboration with AOML's CO2 Program for over two decades. The data from these cruises are available through the Carbon Dioxide Information Analysis Center (CDIAC). PMEL Scientists have focused most of their efforts in the past on Pacific carbon sections. Here you can access data collected from the PMEL led cruises between 1981 and 1994.

Our current efforts are focused on re-sampling a subset of the cruises occupied in the 1990s as part of the international World Ocean Circulation Experiment (WOCE) on a 10 year cycle. These cruises are being conducted in collaboration with other national laboratories and academic partners as part of the Carbon/CLIVAR Repeat Hydrography Program.
