Managed by the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) (www.dol.gov/odep), DisabilityInfo.gov offers a broad range of valuable information, not only for people with disabilities, but also their family members, service providers, employers and many others.

With 22 federal agencies contributing content to this Web site, DisabilityInfo.gov contains extensive, frequently updated information on a host of cross-cutting topics. Easy to navigate, the Web site is organized into subject areas, which include benefits, civil rights, community life, education, employment, health, housing, technology and transportation. By selecting a category from the tabs at the top of the home page, users are directed to visitors to the Web site are directed to practical information on public and private health insurance, accessible transportation, volunteer opportunities and much more.

Several sections of the Web site offer information and resources geared toward older Americans. For example, the Health section features an Aging category replete with information on Medicare and Medicaid benefits, long-term care providers and assistive technology for the aging population. It also links to AgingStats.gov, the Web site of the Federal Interagency Forum on Aging-Related Statistics. Further, the Transportation section of the Web site includes transportation guides to help senior citizens locate accessible transportation in their communities; and the Housing section contains information on HUD-subsidized properties that serve the elderly and persons with disabilities.
