Who Am I?

You Are:
   IP Address: 207.241.229.49
   Host Name: crawling14.us.archive.org

Test another IP Address or Host Name:

The above information displays your IP Address and whether or not
it resolves to a domain name or not. If Host Name is the same
as your IP Address, it is not resolving properly.

If your host name is not resolving properly from the NCDC website,
please make sure that you or your DNS administrator check for the
following. In most cases, fixing one or both of the items below
resolves any issues when trying to access free online data.

  1. The ip address that you have configured on your computer
must have a DNS 'A' record.
  2. The name that is associated with your ip address must have a
PTR record that points back to the SAME ip address in the 'A' record.

example:
123.45.67.90 has host name of jdoe.ncdc.noaa.gov and jdoe.ncdc.noaa.gov
points back to 123.45.67.90 Show this to your system/dns administrator,
who should then be able to correct the problem on your end.

nslookup, host, and dig are commands that can be used to test name
resolving but your name may resolve correctly inside your own network
but not outside it.
