THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS BASED ON THE MOST CURRENT DATA PROVIDED TO NOAA. - Evening
Report  9/13/89  VALDEZ: NOTICE:  As of this date, Exxon Valdez Hotline reports will be
entered as the situation warrants.  Situation: Robinson departed Valdez to attend the
Subsistence Toxicology Review meeting to be held in Seattle tomorrow.  He will return on
Friday to brief the Congressional delegation from the Public Works and Transporation
Committee.  Preparation for demobilization continues in Valdez.  KODIAK:  (Talbott,
Lindsay) Situation: Cleanup operations continue in the Kodiak zone with one team working
on the west coast of Shuyak Island. This team is operating from the three largest support
vessels in the zone and will remain in the field until field operations are terminated on
9/15. Four USCG demobilization teams are in the field and the demobilization efforts in
the zone may be completed as early as 9/14.  Lindsay arrived in Kodiak and is currently in
the field with Dames and Moore assisting with the subsistence sampling program.
Flights/Beach Surveys: Four demobilization teams are working the Alaska Peninsula in the
Cape Douglas and the Chignik/Perryville areas. Dames and Moore are proceeding with the
subsistence sampling program in the Port Lyons and Ouzinke areas.  Meetings: The Kodiak
ISCC met to review agency operations and to disucss ISCC winter plans for the Kodiak zone.
A public meeting was held in the Kodiak Island Borough chambers. Concern was voiced over
the end of the cleanup efforts but the prevailing mood of the public as well as that of
the agencies is that of acceptance and understanding that it is time to refocus on the
proposed winter programs.  Plans for tomorrow: Lindsay will continue subsistence sampling
program with Dames and Moore in the Karluk area. Talbott will work with the various
agencies on the Kodiak ISCC winter plan and continue work on documentation of the state of
the Kodiak zone beaches at the end of the 1989 cleanup season.  HOMER: (McGee) Situation:
Cleanup of boats at Humpy Cove, with USCG monitors continue in the Seward zone. CAMEO
update of beach treatment information continue being exchanged between Seward zone and
Valdez. Informal meetings regarding the 'volunteer effort' proposal for Seward continues.
Several sites remain on the demobilization list.  Plans for tomorrow: MAC and R MAC
meetings are planned for tomorrow. Work on tentative 30 day test plan proposal for seiner
boat support of winter operations in the Seward zone.  Personnel on Scene: Valdez:
