They came from all walks of life on a recent early and crisp fall morning in Flagstaff. TThey met on this refreshing morning for one thing: to help with environmental issues by transplanting 100 vegetative plugs to Tremaine Lake which is located near Hay Lake about 60 miles southeast of Flagstaff in the Coconino National Forest.  FULL STORY

Beginning October 21, 2003, all users attempting to access a WebCAAF-protected application the first time will be prompted to add 3 items to his/her WebCAAF profile. These three items will be used for future security measures and users will only need to add these one time.  FULL STORY

Chief Knight approved 25 recommendations that will result in significant improvements in NRCS operations. Potential Carbon Sequestration on U.S. Agricultural Soils
The NRCS Resource Assessment Division is partnering with Texas A&M University researchers to analyze the potential of U.S. agricultural soils to sequester carbon.  The effort is an activity of the Consortium for Agricultural Soils Mitigation of Greenhouse Gases.  FULL STORY
