warehouse sitting in flood watersWater is necessary for sustaining life. Too much or too little water can have tremendous consequences. Thus, water information is critical for the health and safety of all citizens and the economic well being of our nation. We’re beginning the new millennium with a new vision for Hydrologic Services. As the nation grows, more segments of society become vulnerable to flooding. The National Weather Service is working to expand and improve hydrologic forecast and warning information in order to meet these growing demands.
