The Shipping function at Building 69 is responsible
for shipping material and correspondence from the Laboratory. An
LBNL Shipping Document (7600-55567), available from Stores or Shipping,
must accompany all material leaving the lab. Material requiring
next day delivery in the U.S. or two day delivery Internationally,
must be dropped off at Building 69 before 3:00 pm. Employees are
encouraged to log onto the Procurement Home Page for instructions
on how to send letters and small packages direct from a desk PC.
An On-Site FedEx drop box is located in front of the Building 50
Auditorium.
For large and/or fragile shipments, the Laboratory
uses several freight forwarders depending on time frame, destination,
and special handling requirements. For International shipments,
the Laboratory utilizes a customs brokerage for both outgoing and
incoming non-domestic freight. Chemicals may be shipped with proper
documentation. LBNL Shipping is available to help prepare outgoing
shipments and to provide cost effective solutions to all of your
shipping needs. For all questions regarding shipping and material
tracking, contact Chuck Horton at ext. 5084.
