GSA Awards Purchase and Travel Card Contract to CitibankGSA # 10480 March 31, 2008 WASHINGTON –- The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), has selected Citibank to provide purchase and travel card services under GSA’s SmartPay® 2 program, the agency announced today. The 10-year contract awarded to Citibank will have a projected value of $1 billion. GSA currently has more than 9,000 travel cardholders, 2,000 purchase cardholders, and plans to issue new cards to all cardholders by November 30, 2008. GSA’s SmartPay® 2 contract provides federal agencies with charge card services for enhanced data mining and strategic sourcing capabilities, increased internal controls, customer service, and security requirements, improved reporting capabilities, and other products and services. GSA SmartPay® 2 is the largest government charge card program in the world.
