RED BOOK SPOTLIGHT SECTION
Editor's Choice
Section 2, School Health
UPDATE: With the start of the school year comes the potential of infectious diseases being spread among school children. The Red Book section, School Health, provides methods for preventing and controlling the spread of infections in school children, such as reviewing documentation of each enrolled student’s immunization status. Physicians can help prevent and control the spread of infections in the school setting by being familiar with current public health guidelines.
Red Book Excerpt: "Schools have a legal responsibility to ensure that students have been immunized against vaccine-preventable diseases at the time of enrollment, in accordance with state requirements..."
