I would recommend a shopping list of healthy foods for your recipes -- I would not recommend instant corn flour or cereals - need to use brown rice - instead of white rice. I would also recommend more vegetable and fruit recipes that kids will eat. I also agree about the carbs especially for Latinos and risk of DM needs to be included...and how to make your own recipes healthier. I like the recipe for creama agria (casera) Gracias! Thanks!

I was disappointed to see that no carbohydrate measurements were given, as that is so important to an all-around knowledge of ingredients. Thanks for the English translations. I also didn't see too many recipes that were strictly Mexican. Not that this is good or bad; I guess I expected Mexican dishes, and most of these were basic American cooking recipes, with a few cilantros or yuccas thrown in.

This needs to be in English. Every hispanic person does not speak Spanish. In addition, what about other people who want to do hispanic/spanish/latina cooking.. and they can not read spanish. Please change that!

The is a good resource for many patients. However, it would be a great resource if it included other Hispanic poplulations such as Cuban and Puerto Rican - the biggest hispanic populations in Florida. Perhaps there should be a separate booklet for those nationalities?

My family and I have always been fit and in shape. This book is the icing on the cake! Make it low fat cake, of course. It has many delicious Latin recipes and even thought I am not Latin,I still enjoy Latin food. Great recipes! Very tasty!

Two issues: 1. Does not offer improvements on recipes families will continue to cook. Need to redo recipes that are not heart healthy. 2. Does not meet the needs of Cuban and other Carribean Hispanics, who are our primary population in South Florida.

My mom will be turning 65 soon and retired early. Her health has been an issue lately and it is because of high blood pressure. I have tried to convince her that the food she eats is a big problem and does not help. This book showed her how tasty Latino food can be with out all the fat. The saying is true seeing is believeing.

Looks like it will be good for some of my Spanish speakers, but need to find one for those who can't read...
