WHO MAY APPLY: This position is exempt from career service and is open to graduate, undergraduate, and community college students available for year-round part time work, who are enrolled full-time during the regular school year in an accredited college or university and wish to gain practical work experience in health administration.  The hourly rate range is determined based upon the degree of difficulty of the course of study and related knowledge and skills obtained through the course of study.

WORK LOCATION:  Cedar Hills Regional Landfill; Maple Valley, Washington and King Street Center; Seattle, Washington.

                                                                 

WORK SCHEDULE: During the school year, hours may vary between 15-20 hours per week depending on student schedule and availability.  Work hours will be 35-40 hours per week during the 2008 summer break.  This position is non-exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, and is overtime eligible.  This job is not eligible for benefits.

 

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES INCLUDE: As part of the full-time university student’s ongoing course of study, this position offers practical work experience in the field of Health Administration, Business Administration, or a closely related field.  The Health & Safety Intern will perform the following duties:

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Enrolled full time in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited college or university

A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required.

 

SELECTION PROCESS: The evaluation and selection process will include a preliminary and technical screening of application materials for qualifications and completeness.  The applicants who meet or exceed the required qualifications and indicate that they possess the most competitive background in Health Administration, Business with directly related experience, knowledge, and training will be invited for interviews.
