Libraries Sharing Transportation Resources (LSTR):
An OCLC Group Access Capability (GAC) Group
Participant Agreement

The undersigned, entering into an agreement to participate in Libraries Sharing Transportation Resources (LSTR), shall:

  1. Be a nonprofit transportation library.
  2. Subscribe to OCLC services as either a Governing Member or Member.
  3. Participate in OCLC resource sharing as a supplier.
  4. Commit to resource sharing with all LSTR members.
  5. Provide loans of all circulating monographic (returnable) items to LSTR members at no charge.
  6. Provide photocopies for a maximum of 30 pages per bibliographic citation to LSTR members at no charge (a cost recovery charge for photocopies exceeding 30 page limit is permissible and may be determined by the library).
  7. Provide a complete and accurate citation for requested items.
  8. Clearly identify request as being from a LSTR member library.
  9. Understand that LSTR member libraries retain the right to fill or deny requests for any reason and at their discretion.
  10. Only request items from the Univ. of California, Institute of Transportation Studies Library (OCLC symbol CBT) as a last resort, i.e. there are no other holding LSTR member libraries.

This agreement shall remain in force until the undersigned requests a cancellation in writing.

Definitions:

OCLC Governing Member - contributes metadata, including their current cataloging and holdings to WorldCat or some other OCLC-affiliated database.

OCLC Member - uses OCLC services, but does not contribute all of their current cataloging and holdings information to OCLC. http://www.oclc.org/memberscouncil/documents/Membership_And_Contributions_Protocols.pdf

Nonprofit –A nonprofit (or not-for-profit) organization is an organization that is not operated for the purpose of making a profit for its owners or shareholders. It may or may not also be a tax-exempt organization. http://help.econ.census.gov/econhelp/glossary/#N

Transportation library - Libraries with significant collections relating to the transportation industry[1]. (A good indicator of this is if the library is listed in The Directory of Transportation Libraries and Information Centers http://ntl.bts.gov/tldir/ )
