Welcome to NOAA Fisheries Data Quality Guidelines
NOAA believes that quality information is critical to the integrity
of science-based management on which its stewardship mission depends.
In compliance with the Data Quality Act, NOAA has promulgated Information
Quality Guidelines (NOAA IQ Guidelines). The NOAA IQ Guidelines
are performance standards by which the public can assess the quality
of information disseminated by the Agency. To facilitate public
review of NOAA information products, the NOAA IQ Guidelines set
forth an administrative mechanism (request for correction) allowing
affected persons to seek and obtain, where appropriate, timely
correction of information maintained and disseminated by the Agency
that does not comply with the NOAA IQ Guidelines. Detailed information
concerning the process and required content for a request for correction
can be found in Part III of the NOAA
IQ Guidelines.
If you are concerned about some aspect of our information
products but do not want to submit a Data Quality Act request
for correction, return to CyberFish.
