| Abstract | OPPIE is a new cross-database search and discovery tool developed at the Research Library. It enables searching of the databases BIOSIS, Energy Citation Database, Engineering Index, Inspec, ISI Proceedings, ISI SciSearch, and ISI Social SciSearch. This combined resource has approximately 85 million bibliographic records from journals, conferences and other types of publications, as well as cited references. As of the May 2008 beta release, functionality includes basic, fielded, and cited searching; facets to narrow search results by date, document type and database; times cited counts; full text links; and more. Additional features will be added every few months. OPPIE is available concurrently with the Research Library’s SearchPlus interface and will replace it by the end of September 2008. |
