The global blended temperature product for June - August 2000 shows warm anomalies similar to the March - May 2000 period confined to the Northern Hemisphere. The warmest anomalies were noted across the western and central United States, portions of Mongolia into northeastern China, eastward into Japan. In contrast, cool anomalies were observed over much of Canada and central Siberia as well as most of the Southern Hemisphere land areas. Large cool anomalies were noted across portions of the major continental areas of Australia, South Africa and South America. See the Global Analysis and Global Regional Analysis pages for more details on the global climate.
