Seniors on the Go
UTA can help you stay mobile and active by giving you safe, reliable and
low-cost bus and light rail service to popular destinations across the
Wasatch Front. UTA serves most major shopping centers, restaurants,
hospitals and cultural event centers. To top it off, you are eligible
for reduced fare tickets and monthly passes.
Reduced Fares
As a Senior you receive reduced fares on UTA. One-way tickets can be purchased at the ticket vending machines or when boarding the bus; they are good for two hours from the time of purchase. You can purchase
monthly passes at most local grocery stores or on UTA's website at
www.rideuta.com.
Schedules and Trip Planning
To receive assistance planning your trip, call UTA's customer
information line at RIDE-UTA (743-3882). You can also plan your
trip by visiting UTA's website at
www.rideuta.com.
UTA Operators
UTA's operators are knowledgeable about the transit system and
trained to be sensitive to your needs. Operators will assist you with
questions and fare payment. In addition, operators will announce all
major intersections and transfer points along the line.
Transfers
Ask for a “transfer ticket” when boarding any bus, and you can switch
buses or ride TRAX for up to two hours on the same ticket.
Transit Benefits
Transit allows you to let someone else do the driving and offers
convenient transportation to shopping, appointments, restaurants, movies
and to handle many of life's tasks. Transit assists in improving
environmental quality, reduces traffic congestion and provides
transportation options for the entire community.
As part of UTA's ongoing effort to educate seniors about public
transportation, we are pleased to offer a senior education program. To schedule a presentation, please contact Jeanetta Williams at (801) 287-2128 or jwilliams@rideuta.com.
