DisabilityInfo.gov (www.DisabilityInfo.gov) is a federal Web site designed to offer people with disabilities and many others access to the information and resources they need to live full and independent lives in the workplace and in their communities. Managed by the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) (www.dol.gov/odep), DisabilityInfo.gov offers a broad range of valuable information, not only for people with disabilities, but also their family members, employers, service providers and many others.

Easy to navigate, DisabilityInfo.gov is organized by subject areas that include benefits, civil rights, community life, education, employment, health, housing, technology and transportation. In particular, the Benefits section provides links to a range of valuable programs and initiatives designed to ensure access to benefits assistance.

With 22 federal agencies contributing content to this Web site, including the Social Security Administration (SSA), DisabilityInfo.gov contains extensive, frequently updated information on a host of cross-cutting topics. Areas of particular interest to the disability community include information on the SSA definition of disability, as well as the process used by the SSA in deciding benefits claims; link to e-Vital, SSA's new e-Government initiative, that makes it easier and quicker to apply for Social Security benefits; links to various work incentives and employment support programs to enhance service to people with disabilities who want to work; and resources for employers, including information on "Ticket to Hire," a specialized referral network linking employers to job-seekers with disabilities.
