Burn Center General Information

The Burn O.R.
The Burn Center is part of the USAISR's Trauma Division.  The Burn Center is located on the 4th Floor of Brooke Army Medical Center.  Approximately 300 burn patients are admitted annually.  Over 545 patients have been admitted resulting from the Global War on Terror (GWOT).  The Burn Center serves the U.S. Department of Defense, the U.S. Department of Veteran's Affairs, several other federal agencies, and civilians in the South Texas region.  The Burn Center consists of sixteen (16) ICU and twenty-four (24) ward (stepdown) patient beds, which can be expanded.  The Burn Center also provides an Outpatient Clinic.

The ISR staff provides clinical burn training programs for physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals and supports clinical trauma research programs.  Flight Teams are provided by the Burn Center to ensure safe military aeromedical transfer of burn patients.
