Director, Dr. Jean Aden
Jean Aden has a background in multilateral lending and compliance management. As World Bank environment staff from 1987-2000, she participated in establishment of the Bank’s environmental safeguards and managed the Bank’s compliance with environmental assessment directives for its Asia project pipeline. She has worked with developing country officials to improve environmental regulation and monitoring, and has conducted original research applying market research techniques to environmental management issues in East and Southeast Asia. More recently, she has designed and delivered courses on governance, accountability, international development and environment at Georgetown and Johns Hopkins Universities. She obtained her first degree from Stanford University and her Ph.D. from Cornell University. She joined OPIC in January 2005.
