NRC TO MEET WITH SOUTH TEXAS PROJECT TO DISCUSS SAFETY PERFORMANCE AT STP NUCLEAR POWER PLANT |

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff will meet with officials of STP Nuclear Operating Company on Thursday, June 7, to discuss the results of NRC's annual assessment of safety performance at the South Texas Project nuclear power plant. The meeting will be held at 12:30 p.m. at the Nuclear Support Center, eight miles west of Wadsworth, Texas, on FM 521. The public is invited to observe the meeting. NRC officials will be available after the meeting to answer questions. A letter sent from NRC Region IV to STPNOC, which addresses plant safety performance during the previous year and forms the basis of the meeting discussion, is available from the Region IV Office of Public Affairs or at the NRC web site at: http://www.nrc.gov/OPA/ppr/.
