NRC, CON ED TO DISCUSS RESPONSE TO TEAM INSPECTION AT INDIAN POINT 2 |
||
Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff will meet with representatives of Consolidated Edison Company of New York on Monday, April 30, to discuss the utility's response to an NRC team inspection conducted earlier this year at the Buchanan, N.Y., facility. The discussion will focus principally on design and configuration control issues. The meeting, which will be open to the public, is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Public Meeting Room at the NRC Region I office, 475 Allendale Road, King of Prussia, Pa. A multidisciplinary team of 14 inspectors carried out the inspection over the course of about two months, with a total of three weeks of on-site reviews. The inspection was conducted in response to the plant's designation as a facility with "multiple degraded cornerstones," or indicators of declining performance. The NRC conducted a public exit meeting, at which the team's preliminary findings were summarized, on March 2. The team's formal report was issued earlier this month.
