NRC STAFF TO HOLD PUBLIC MEETING WITH FP&L JUNE 8 TO DISCUSS INITIAL PLANT LICENSE RENEWAL INSPECTION AT TURKEY POINT |
||
Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials will meet with Florida Power & Light management at 9:00 a.m. (edt) on Friday, June 8, at the Turkey Point nuclear power plant to discuss the results of the agency's initial inspection of the plant's license renewal program. The meeting will be open to public observation and will be held in Room 123 of the Turkey Point Nuclear Training Building, located at the site. NRC officials said the inspection was the first of three planned license renewal reviews at Turkey Point and was conducted to verify that the company's license renewal program is implemented consistent with its license renewal application and pertinent regulations. Subsequent NRC inspections will verify that programs are in place to manage the material condition of the plant's systems, structures and components. NRC officials will discuss the license renewal process and the schedule for Turkey Point. |
