NOTE TO EDITORS: DECISION ISSUED ON CALLOWAY

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff has issued its decision resulting from a regulatory conference held November 9 last year with Union Electric Co., which operates the Callaway Nuclear Plant near Fulton, Missouri. The Agency determined that performance deficiencies in the plant's program for managing radiation exposure of employees were of low to moderate safety significance and may require additional inspection effort.
